The XFit story is one of resilience, empowerment, and the unwavering belief in the power of the human spirit. It is a testament to the idea that no matter what struggles you face—whether from your past, your present, or your daily life—there is always a path to a brighter future.
Taylor Coibion’s, the founder of XFit, personal journey is deeply woven into the fabric of XFit. His commitment to helping others and his passion for fitness are evident in every aspect of our gym.
My early life was marked by unimaginable hardship. My mother, Jennifer Coibion, disappeared in 1994 when I was just a child, and her body was found eighteen years later, revealing a tragic story of trafficking, addiction, and violence.
Raised by my grandparents, I struggled with the trauma of my mother’s disappearance and the chaotic circumstances of my early years. School was another challenge, where my self-destructive behavior and self-harm led to me being placed in special education despite my academic capabilities.
My situation worsened when, at nine years old, I was sent to a mental facility where I experienced further trauma, including rape by an older boy.
These traumatic experiences led me to a point of deep despair. The pressure and misunderstanding from my environment culminated in a suicide attempt after a particularly harsh confrontation with my grandfather.
Despite surviving this, the psychological toll of my early life led me down a path of self-destruction. I fell into a deep depression reminiscent of my darkest days. This despair drove me to give up on everything I valued, leading to a month-long spiral into criminal activity.
Seeking solace in drugs and associating with the wrong crowds, I began breaking into cars and garages, stealing credit cards, and engaging in other illicit activities.
My awakening came one night while lying high on a hotel room floor. Overwhelmed by exhaustion and the realization that I could no longer run from my emotions, I decided to face them head-on. This moment of clarity was the catalyst for my transformation.
Determined to change my life, I began cooperating with law enforcement, which included returning stolen items and seeking legal counsel. I enrolled in therapy and reached closure with the authorities.
Balancing a 9-5 job while training personal clients and being homeless, my resilience began to shine through. My commitment to personal growth and helping others marked the beginning of my journey toward a new life.
And 10 years later, I have been involved in numerous community initiatives and events that reflect my commitment to giving back:
I have founded 4 successful companies.
I am either part of the Board or Committee member of 4 non-profits.
I have spoken to over 10,000 people.
I have trained over 1,000 people.
I am an avid Community Activist.
I am deeply Family Oriented.
Today, I stand as a testament to the power of resilience and redemption. I am now a successful business owner, philanthropist, husband, and father. I founded XFit, a gym that embodies my mission of empowerment through fitness.
XFit is more than a gym—it’s a community dedicated to helping individuals overcome their challenges, break their limitations, and transform their lives.
